What Are Themes?

Themes control the visual appearance of your book: fonts, spacing, margins, headers, and decorative elements. Each theme is designed by typographers for professional results, so your book looks polished and publication-ready right out of the box.

Choosing a Theme

Navigate to Format → Themes to open the theme gallery. Browse the available options, click any theme to see a live preview of how it will look with your manuscript, and apply it with one click. Your entire book updates instantly.

Theme Components

A theme controls several aspects of your book's design:

• Body font and size
• Chapter title style
• Header and footer format
• Margins and leading
• Ornamental elements (drop caps, scene breaks, etc.)

Customizing a Theme

After applying a theme, you can adjust individual settings to match your vision. Any changes you make are saved as a custom variant of the original theme, so you can always revert to the default if needed.
