Set up your first project and learn the basics of Sappar Studio.

Welcome to Sappar Studio

Sappar Studio is a professional book typesetting application built for independent authors and small publishers. It produces print-ready PDFs and EPUBs with publisher-grade typography, giving your book the polished, professional appearance readers expect from traditionally published titles.

Creating Your First Project

To create your first book project, open Sappar Studio and click New Project from the welcome screen. Give your book a title, then select a trim size from the list of industry-standard dimensions. Sappar supports popular sizes like 5" x 8", 5.5" x 8.5", and 6" x 9", along with several other options for both fiction and non-fiction formats.

The Workspace

The main workspace is divided into three areas. On the left, a sidebar lists all of your chapters and front/back matter sections. The central area contains both the editor — where you write and edit your manuscript — and a live preview of your formatted pages. At the top, a toolbar provides quick access to formatting controls, export options, and project settings.

You can write your entire book inside Sappar or import an existing manuscript and continue editing it here. The editor and typeset preview sit side by side, so you see exactly how your words will look on the printed page as you write.
