EPUB Export

Create EPUB files for digital distribution on any e-reader platform.

Overview

EPUB is the standard format for e-books, supported by Apple Books, Kobo, Barnes & Noble, and many other platforms. Sappar exports clean, valid EPUB 3 files that are ready for distribution.

What's Included

The EPUB export contains everything needed for a complete e-book: chapter structure with a navigable table of contents, a cover image, metadata (title, author, ISBN, description, and more), styled body text with your theme's font choices where supported by e-readers, and scene breaks and formatting.

Setting Up Your EPUB

Go to File → Export → EPUB. Enter or verify your metadata: title, author name, publisher, ISBN (optional), and description. Select your cover image — a resolution of 1600×2400 pixels or larger is recommended for sharp display across devices.

Typography in EPUB

E-readers have their own rendering engines, which means typography behaves differently than in print. Sappar embeds font files when licensing allows, but readers can override fonts with their own preferences. Some formatting — like precise drop caps or specific leading values — may render differently across devices and reader apps.

Note

EPUB formatting varies by device and reader app. Always test your EPUB on multiple devices before publishing.

Exporting

Click Export. Sappar generates a single .epub file. You can validate it using online EPUB validators before uploading to distribution platforms.
