Exporting for IngramSpark
Export print-ready PDFs that meet IngramSpark's strict submission requirements.
Overview
IngramSpark has stricter PDF requirements than KDP. Sappar generates PDF/X-1a compliant files with embedded ICC color profiles, ensuring your submission passes IngramSpark's automated file review.
PDF/X-1a Compliance
PDF/X-1a is a print-industry standard that guarantees your file is ready for commercial printing. It requires that all fonts are embedded, all colors are in the CMYK color space, there is no transparency, and no RGB images are present. Sappar handles all of this automatically when you choose the IngramSpark export option, so you don't need to worry about color space conversions or font embedding.
Setting Up for IngramSpark
Go to File → Export → IngramSpark. Select your trim size from the available options. IngramSpark supports a wider range of trim sizes than KDP, including many non-standard dimensions. Review your bleed settings — IngramSpark requires 0.125″ bleed on all sides (top, bottom, inside, and outside).
IngramSpark requires bleed on all four sides, unlike KDP which only requires bleed on three sides. Sappar sets this automatically when you choose the IngramSpark export option.
Cover Spine Width
IngramSpark requires a specific spine width based on your book's page count and the paper type you select. Sappar calculates this for you and displays it in the export dialog, so you can provide the correct spine width to your cover designer or use it when creating your own cover file.
