What's next · 2026

The roadmap.

A look at what’s already in motion and what we expect to release next, all shaped by the needs of authors and publishers.

August 2026

  • Sappar Studio Open Beta

Sappar Studio enters Open Beta: the first public release of the complete Studio experience.

During this phase, anyone can download, use, and help shape Sappar Studio as we test the platform at a larger scale, refine workflows, improve performance, and prepare every part of the Studio for its full release.

Open Beta is not the finish line. Features will continue to evolve, new capabilities will arrive throughout the beta, and feedback from the people actually making books with Sappar Studio will directly inform what comes next.

The tools are ready to leave the workshop. Now we put them in the hands of everyone.

  • Pantheon Add-On

Pantheon expands Sappar Studio beyond the manuscript and into the world behind it.

Build and organize characters, locations, cultures, histories, timelines, organizations, objects, relationships, rules, and lore in a living story bible connected directly to your project.

This release introduces the first major Sappar Studio add-on: purpose-built tools that extend the Studio for different kinds of books and creative work without breaking the workflow into separate applications.

One Studio. More ways to build what your story needs.

September 2026

  • Sappar Studio for macOS joins Open Beta

Sappar Studio for macOS is joining the Open Beta, bringing the full Studio experience to Mac users for the first time.

This release expands the beta across another platform while our teams continue refining performance, workflows, and the features already in development.

Mac users can now download Sappar Studio, work on real projects, and help shape the experience as we move toward the full release.

The Open Beta continues to grow, and now, so does where you can use it.

  • Symposium Add-On

Symposium is for the part of making a book that rarely happens alone.

Bring editors, co-authors, designers, and other collaborators into the project without handing over the whole thing. Share a single page, a chapter, several chapters, or only the sections someone actually needs to see.

They can leave notes, discuss changes, and review revisions right where the work lives, while everything else in the project stays private.

No long email chains. No passing files back and forth. No giving someone access to more than they need.

Share the work, not the whole workspace.

  • Iris Add-On

Iris is built for authors and illustrators creating children’s books.

Write the story, place artwork, build each spread, and bring words and illustrations together without moving between different tools. Iris supports the formats commonly used for children’s publishing, including picture books, board books, early readers, illustrated storybooks, and square, portrait, and landscape layouts.

Work page by page or across full spreads, with the freedom to position text and artwork where the story needs them. From the first draft to the finished book, the writing, illustrations, and layout stay together inside Sappar Studio.

Built for stories where the page is part of the storytelling.

October 2026

  • Japanese, Chinese & Korean Language Support

In October, Sappar Studio will add full manuscript support for Japanese, Simplified Chinese, and Korean.

Writers will be able to create and edit manuscripts directly in these languages, with native IME and keyboard input support, proper character handling, line breaking, punctuation, and typography built into the editor and typesetting system.

This is more than translating the Sappar Studio interface. It means books can be written, edited, typeset, and prepared for publication in these languages from inside the Studio.

Coming in October: 日本語 · 简体中文 · 한국어

  • Saga Add-On

Saga is built for comic books and graphic storytelling.

Write, plan, and assemble comics, graphic novels, and visual narratives in one place. Build pages panel by panel, place dialogue and captions, manage artwork, and shape the reading flow without having to piece the process together across different tools.

Whether the work is structured page by page or spread by spread, Saga is made for storytelling where layout, pacing, and image placement matter as much as the words.

Made for stories told in panels, pages, and sequences.

  • Erato Add-On

Erato is made for poets who want the page to be part of the poem.

Write and arrange poetry with control over line breaks, spacing, alignment, typography, and page layout. Whether you are creating a traditional collection, free verse, concrete poetry, or something more experimental, Erato gives you the freedom to shape the work the way it is meant to be read.

From the first poem to the finished collection, everything stays inside Sappar Studio.

For poets who want the page to carry part of the meaning.

Coming Soon

  • Multi-Language Hyphenation

Extended hyphenation dictionaries covering 20+ languages for perfect word breaks worldwide.

  • Version History

Track every revision with built-in version snapshots. Compare, restore, and branch from any point.

Later in 2026

  • Orpheus Add-On

Orpheus is made for authors bringing their books into audio.

Record narration yourself or find professional narrators through Sappar Circle, review their work, and follow the progress of your audiobook directly through the platform. The manuscript, narration, feedback, and production stay connected from chapter to chapter.

Whether you are recording your own voice or working with a narrator, Orpheus gives you one place to take an audiobook from manuscript to finished narration.

Your book has a voice. Orpheus helps you find it.

  • Babel Add-On

Babel is built for authors and publishers taking their books into new languages.

Create and manage multilingual editions alongside the original manuscript, keeping translations organized without turning every language into a separate, disconnected project. Compare versions, review changes, and prepare each edition for publication from inside Sappar Studio.

Through Sappar Circle, authors can also find professional translators, hire the right person for their book, share only the material they need, and follow the translation as it progresses through the platform.

One book. More languages. A much bigger shelf.

  • Moirai Add-On

Moirai is built for authors who want to see how their story is holding together while they write.

Track plotlines, character arcs, beats, scenes, chapters, and story threads across the manuscript. See where something disappears for too long, where several threads collide, and how the shape of the story changes from beginning to end.

Instead of keeping all of that in notes or trying to remember where every thread leads, Moirai gives you a visual way to follow the structure of the book alongside the manuscript.

See the threads. Shape the story.

  • Custom Theme Designer

Build your own book themes from scratch with a visual editor for margins, fonts, ornaments, and spacing.

  • Print-on-Demand Integration

One-click export profiles for KDP, IngramSpark, and Lulu with automatic bleed and trim settings.
